The letterbox is the first impression an entrance gives, whether to a house or an apartment block: it has to look right, stand up to hard use and work properly. ALU-CO offers a complete range of individual and communal letterboxes, certified to the European standards, available in a great many finishes and fully configurable to the architecture of the project. To keep up with the explosion in online deliveries, ALU-CO also offers parcel box systems, either on their own or built into a communal bank.

Powder coating and anodising — two ways to bring out the best in aluminium
Powder coating gives you all but unlimited freedom over appearance; anodising (ELOXAL) gives natural, permanent protection while keeping the metallic look of the material.
Powder coating
Coloured powder sprayed on electrostatically and then cured at 200 °C: the polymerised coating is perfectly even, with no runs and no build-up.

ELOXAL anodising
An electrochemical process that turns the surface of the aluminium into a dense oxide layer around 20 μm thick: the layer is part of the metal itself, so it cannot flake or peel away.
- Hardness of 250 to 450 HV — comparable to some steels
- The natural metallic look is preserved
- Natural shades: silver, champagne, bronze, black

Frequently asked questions about ALU-CO
Yes. ALU-CO systems come in a great many finishes and colours. For architect-led projects or buildings with a set colour scheme, RAL finishes can be produced to order through the powder coating process. The aluco.lu site sets out the options and lets you look through the configurations.
ALU-CO handles both supply AND installation. ALU-CO teams work across the whole of Luxembourg to install the systems professionally. It is a turnkey service, from choosing the product to the final handover.

A letterbox takes ordinary post: letters, magazines, small packets. A parcel box is a larger unit designed to take online deliveries: its opening lets a courier drop in a medium-sized parcel, with a security mechanism that stops anyone taking it back out without a key. ALU-CO supplies both, separately or as a combined system.
Powder coating is the answer if you want a specific colour (the RAL shades) or a particular finish (matt, gloss, satin). Anodising keeps the natural metallic look of the aluminium and gives it exceptional hardness and corrosion resistance. ALU-CO offers both processes, depending on your project.
