Made-to-Measure Gym Mirrors — the professional mirror wall for your studio

A mirror wall turns a training space into a professional one in an instant: exercises can be corrected as they happen, the room reads as twice the size, and the atmosphere becomes that of a high-end studio straight away.

A working tool, not an accessory

In a dance, yoga, martial arts, cross-training or fitness studio, the mirror wall is not an accessory: it is a fundamental working tool. It lets people check their posture, correct their movement as they go and keep their attention on their own body. It lets the instructor see the whole group at once, even when facing the class.

Vitralux installs made-to-measure gym mirrors across Luxembourg in every kind of studio and training room: home gyms, dance studios, yoga and meditation centres, martial arts dojos, cross-training boxes, fitness clubs and hotel wellness suites. Every installation is designed to cover the area you want, continuously and with nothing breaking the reflection.

All our gym mirrors are made in laminated safety mirror glass: if a piece of equipment or a person strikes the glass, the fragments stay bonded to the interlayer instead of flying across the room. It is a safety requirement in any sports space, and an essential reassurance for operators and their insurers.

Applications by type of studio

Which mirror wall suits which kind of studio?

01

Dance studio

A floor-to-ceiling mirror wall is essential. Typical area: 4 to 6 metres long as a minimum, over the full height of the room. A ballet barre in front of the mirror is optional, but it has to be part of the brief from the start.

02

Yoga and Pilates studio

A mirror wall on one or two walls. A height of 2 m as a minimum. A perfectly flat reflection is essential for checking postural alignment.

03

Martial arts dojo

Mirrors on one or two walls: martial arts need a side view. Laminated safety glass is essential, given the throws and impacts involved.

04

Gym / cross-training room

Mirror walls along the sides and the end: maximum visibility for the coach. Panels of 2,000 × 1,000 mm, butt-jointed.

05

Hotel wellness suite

A smaller area, but high expectations on looks. High-quality laminated glass with a carefully worked edge.

06

Home gym

In a house or a flat, a few panels are enough. A height of 2 m, and a width to suit the space. Laminated glass is worth having even at home.

How to get a mirror wall with nothing breaking the reflection

A large mirror wall is necessarily made up of several panels: there is no such thing as a single mirror 4 or 6 metres long. The quality of the finished result therefore depends on how those panels are set next to one another.

Butt-jointing means reducing the gap between panels to the bare minimum — a few millimetres of clear silicone — and aligning the edge of every panel perfectly, so that the reflection runs on from one panel to the next. The result is a mirror wall whose joints are all but invisible in normal use.

  • Standard panel size: 2,000 × 1,000 mm — much the most common.
  • Joint between panels: clear neutral-cure silicone — a few millimetres.
  • Alignment: perfectly level and plumb — checked with a laser level.
  • Fixing: special mirror adhesive + an aluminium angle to hold the panels top and bottom.
  • Edge detail: an aluminium perimeter profile, or a silicone joint where the mirror meets the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the made-to-measure gym mirror

In buildings open to the public (sports clubs, commercial studios), laminated safety glass is generally required by the safety rules and by insurers. In private spaces (a home gym) it is not compulsory, but it is strongly advised: an ordinary mirror that breaks in a fall or an impact can cause serious injury. The extra cost of laminated over ordinary glass is small set against the protection it gives.

With standard panels of 2,000 × 1,000 mm, it takes 4 panels to cover a wall 4 metres wide in portrait format (1,000 mm wide each). If the room is more than 2,000 mm high, you need a second row or panels made taller to measure. Vitralux makes the panels to the exact sizes your space calls for.

Yes, provided quality 6 mm mirror glass is used and the fixing to the wall is perfectly flat. A wall that leans slightly, or a mirror fixed to an uneven surface, can distort the reflection. Vitralux checks how flat the wall is when measuring up and advises on any correction needed before fitting.

Yes, and it is a very common combination in dance studios. The barre is fixed to the wall and the floor, independently of the mirror. It matters that the height and position of the barre are coordinated with the mirror installation so that the two sit well together. Vitralux can advise on the coordination, but the barre itself is usually supplied and fitted by another contractor.
