|---|---|

| Glazed barriers | Glazed barriers and balustrades in the public realm, in stations and in shopping centres. |
| Glazed roofs (shelters) | Shelter roof glazing: laminated glass 55.2 for higher impact resistance and safety. |
| Glazed signage | Glazed information panels, advertising panels, decorative glazing in the street. |

The glass we use for street furniture
Why laminated glass rather than toughened glass? Laminated glass is made of several sheets of glass bonded together by an interlayer. If it breaks — vandalism, an impact, an accident — it holds together and stays in place: the fragments do not fall, and the shelter goes on protecting passengers until we can attend. Plain toughened glass, by contrast, shatters into thousands of dangerous pieces.
| Laminated 44.2 (side panels) | 2 × 4 mm + a 0.76 mm PVB interlayer. Total thickness: 8.76 mm. The standard for the side panels of bus and tram shelters. |
|---|---|
| Laminated 55.2 (glazed roofs) | 2 × 5 mm + a 0.76 mm PVB interlayer. Total thickness: 10.76 mm. Used for shelter roof glazing: higher impact and load resistance. |
| Interlayer options | Standard PVB or SGP SentryGlas, depending on the structural demands on the furniture. |
| Finish | Edges ground and polished in the Vitralux workshop. Drilled holes to suit the fixing system where needed. |

Vandalised street furniture that needs making safe urgently?
Our 24-hour emergency service makes the area safe, then replaces the glass. Is the glass merely scratched by a tag or by rubbing? Polishing with Vitrapolish removes the marks on the spot, with no replacement at all.
