Royal Hamilius — Fnac Grand-Rue: bonded glazing façade in XXL formats
Replacing two XXL façade panes (2.40 × 5.00 m) at the foot of Royal Hamilius, on the Fnac in Grand-Rue — with no visible fixing at all.

The challenge
The starting point on site
The ground-floor façade of the Fnac at Royal Hamilius Grand-Rue needed two very large insulating units replaced. The work was scheduled for a Sunday morning during the Octave — one of the busiest weeks of the year in Luxembourg City — with a full safety cordon and a pedestrian diversion.

What we did
The Vitralux solution
- XXL insulating units: 2.40 m × 5.00 m with purpose-made anchors built in
- Bonded glazing (VEC), taken further as structural glazing: the adhesive carries the loads as well, so no fixing shows and the façade stays perfectly flat across its whole surface
- Work scheduled for a Sunday morning during the Octave — organisation without a hitch
- Full safety cordon and pedestrian diversion in place
- Precise survey beforehand and tight coordination on site
- Full PPE worn throughout the operation
Team pride, technical excellence and safety: three values that guide every one of our projects.
